Substantial Supplemental Fee Increases for L-1 and H-1B Initial and Extension Petitions

Supplemental fees have increased for L-1 and H-1B petitions for companies employing 50+ people.  This fee increase is a result of the December 18, 2016 FY2016 Omnibus Appropriations bill, and applies to companies employing 50 or more people in the United States, when more than 50% of their workforce is in H-1B, L-1A, or L-1B nonimmigrant status.  The supplemental fee increases are significant: the L-1 petition fee has increased from $2,250 to $4,500, and the H-1B petition fee increased from $2,000 to $4,000.  The fee increases affect both initial and extension petitions.
