The additional fee of $2,000 previously required by USCIS (under Section 402 of Public Law 111-230) for certain H-1B and L-1 petitions is no longer necessary, as long as the petition was filed on or after October 1, 2015. This fee has been required since August 13, 2010, by Public Law 111-230 for certain L-1A and L-1B petitions.
The continued required H-1B and L-1 fees include the Base fee, Fraud Prevention and Detection Fee, and Workforce Improvement Act of 1998 (ACWIA) fee when applicable, and should be paid in separate checks for each fee.
